volunteering with behind the book | DUAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL

I volunteered to be an art coach for the afternoon with the organisation 'Behind the Book' which aims to engage students with literature in creative ways. For this work shop I got to work in the classroom with a predominantly Asian class, some of whom have English as their second language. The students were finishing off their own graphic novels, telling their personal stories through drawing and dialogue.

Although the workshop focused mostly on art and drawing techniques, it was a great experience to see the interior of a classroom and to understand the dynamics of high school students within a learning environment. There was a lot of energy in the classroom that day.

This building houses a total of 5 different schools.
