OFF TO NEW YORK

My main fieldwork period is about to begin! 10 weeks in New York and plenty of people to meet and events to attend. For the next few months I will be living in Woodside, Queens -- a neighbourhood between Sunnyside and Jackson Heights. Perhaps in a quest to try to experience Filipino-American culture, I will be staying in New York's very own Little Manila. The almost stereotypical 'melting pot', Woodside will hopefully show me the city's diversity and a taste of its multicultural territories.
